Show OBITUARY OF COLUMBUS NORWOOD, SR. When through life's darkened maze I go And troubles overwhelm my soul. Oh, grant me, Lord, your grace to know That you are surely in control. — DJO My times are in my Father's hand; How could I wish or ask for more? For he who has my pathway planned Will guide me till my journey's o'er. — Fraser Columbus Norwood, Sr., 77, died on Tuesday, August 1, 1995 at the McKay Dee Hospital Center. He was born on October 26, 1917 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, the oldest son of Clayton and Erma T. Williams Norwood. Columbus moved to Ogden, Utah in 1950 and later met and married May Motley who preceded him in death in 1982. He was a Baptist and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion. | Columbus was employed by the Defense Depot Ogden as a fork lift operator until he retired after 32 years of service. He worked at the Officers Club at Hill Air Force Base and Defense Depot Ogden for many years and worked as a volunteer with the Catholic Community Services. : He leaves to cherish his memories three sons and five daughters; Columbus Norwood, Jr., Los Angeles, California; Clayton Norwood and John Henry Norwood, both of Ogden, Utah; Barbara Allen, Zelia Mae Byrd, Edna Mae Arnold, all of Los Angeles, California; Johnnie Mae Davis, Ogden, Utah; Charlene Carlos, Palm Springs, California; one daughter-in-law, Mary Norwood; three sons-in-laws , Willie Allen, Los Angeles, Carl Davis, Ogden, Utah, John Carlos, Palm Springs Califor- nia; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters; Elbert Norwood, Alton Norwood, James Norwood, all of Chicago, Illinois; Ardeous Norwood, Claremont, California; Zelia Carter, Brookhaven, Mississippi; Lula Smith, Linderwald, New Jersey. — Humbly submitted, the Family |
