Dayley, Dean of Students The development and coordination of Student Personnel Services is the responsibility of the Dean of Students. Under his direction needed policies and procedures for student personnel are developed and recommended to the College Administration. ASSISTANT DEAN OF STUDENTS FOR WOMEN Jan L. Tyler, Assistant Dean Sue Stevenson, Coordinator of Women's Activities The Office of Assistant Dean of Students serves as the advisor to the Associated Women Students' organization, Cardinal Key, and the local sororities. This office provides assistance in solving the unique problems of the more mature students as well as those of the married students. It serves as liaison with the campus centered Ethnic Institute. This office endeavors to initiate programs of interest to all students which will encourage the examination and questioning of life styles within the social context of the present day. It seeks other than traditional ways of relating with students. The Office of Assistant Dean of Students enforces compliance with Affirmative Action regulations. It provides counseling and assistance to students who are having difficulties, either academic or personal. This office serves students who may not desire to participate in organized groups which are formally recognized by the college. It aids students in long term life planning, individualized educational planning, and personalized career planning. It assists students with physical handicaps and encourages a sensitivity to these students. This offices as liaison for students to better communication with faculty, staff, and administrators. 61
