Cornelia Klyn, Elida Barnes. • The Utah Skills Center North represents a unique organization of state and local agencies and lay citizens in the Ogden area who cooperate to provide quality education and training for low-income and handicapped adults. Pre-vocational and vocational programs are offered on and off the campus with basic education, high school completion, GED and English as a second language provided for students before entering and during occupational training programs. Skills Center North offers in cooperation with the School of Technology, Area Occupational Career Center, Ogden and Weber County Schools, a complete selection of occupational training programs. Students are provided job counseling, child care, and transportation assistance. All programs at Skills Center North allow the student to enroll at any time, with individualized instruction provided at the individual's own learning rate. Persons who wish to enroll in the Skills Center may apply directly at the administrative office in the Exchange Building in West Ogden or they may contact any of the following: Ogden Employment Security Agency; Farmington Employment Security Agency; Community Action Program, Ogden; Davis County Community Action Program; Division of Family Services, Ogden; Division of Rehabilitation Services, Ogden; Division of Continuing Education, Weber State College. Skills Center North offers educational course work in the following areas: Basic Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), Office Occupations, Pre-Vocational, and college programs. |
