Clubwomen Pick Mother CandidateMrs. Weston Poulson has been chosen as Weber county s outstanding mother of 1951 by the Og den district of Federated Women s clubs and will compete with others chosen in the various districts, for Utah Mother of 1951. The federation was requested by Governor J. Bracken Lee to make the choice. Mrs. Harold Christen sen, first vice president of the organization, is general chairman.Mrs. Poulson is a native of Og den and received her education here. She is the mother of six sons and daughters. Besides helping her husband with their dairy, she keeps house, takes to and from school every day a son, who is paralyzed from the waist down from polio.She is active in P. T. A. work having served as vice president of the South Ogden P. T. A. She with others, organized the Polio Emergency Volunteer club, and has promoted outstanding programs in the city. Among them was the Queen for a Day feature, which netted over 7000, the money being presented to the March of Dimes ; also A Night in Hawaii the proceeds from which w ere spent for equipment for the polio ward at St. Benedict s.Each year she serves for the March of Dimes and also serves on the county board of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis.For the past four years, she has been available for call at any time to assist at the hospital with children who have been stricken with polio.Mrs. Weston Combe Poulson has been chosen as local outstanding mother of the year, by Ogden District of Federated Women s clubs.
