Standard July 22 51The Roland Parry production of his own impressive and melodious All Faces West at the Ogden stadium is a triumph in which art, organization, cooperation, skill and downright hard work have paid off magnificently.It is said that a commercial musical production is usually successful if it has at least one melody the audience will hum or whistle on the way home. Mr. Parry has written several songs the listeners will not soon forget.Never before has Ogden presented a music spectacle on so lavish a scale as this remarkable feature of our Pioneer Days celebration. On all sides it is being compared with Promised Valley of Mormon centennial fame and not to the disadvantage of the Ogden production.The excellent choir of several hundred bright voices, the soloists, the spectacles upon the great stage, the orchestra, organists, pianists, dancers, lights, costumes and narration all of these combined under Mr. Parry s direction to hold attention, stir the emotions and contribute to a feeling of prideful satisfaction.Igor Gorin of operatic and concert fame sings the stellar role with rare quality and distinction, but our local soloists sing well, also. Indeed, we learn how really well they sing by measuring their performance with the high Gorin standards.Our thanks and congratulations go to Mr. Parry and his wife, to all of those who take part and have so faithfully prepared the production, to our city government for its financial sponsorship and to the audiences which have responded, proving that the people know a good thing when they see and hear it
