This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show SUNDAY December 9, 1951 Cold clear day 4 degrees last nite I attended Priesthood meetg High Priests Class and Sunday School. Myra, Oertel and I attended eveng meetig Dean Brigham a returned missionary spoke good This is Royal Eccles birthday 66. We ate dinner there and spent afternoon with them Nice dinner and enjoyable time I wrote to Dr J.T. Rushmer tonite He is in Arabia visiting his son Retire early MONDAY December 10, 1951 A clear cold day I recd a card from Dr J.T. Rushmer from Arabia stating he had been up to Jerusalem. I visited Mrs Alex Brewer and Mrs Roling. Nothing special Andrea Rich Watkins wife of Senator Arthur Watkins visited us this afternoon Grand woman. TUESDAY December 11, 1951 Not quite so cold tonight I went down to printing office and got xmas cards. Nothing special. Have read some. Ward Teachers called tonite also Dr Jr called. Oertel went down to John Scowcrofts to a party WEDNESDAY December 12, 1951 Little warmer clear nice day. I have worked getting out xmas cards today. Dr Conrad Jenson and I went out collecting funds for new meeting house tonite just fair success. Dr Jr called this evening. Letter from Avon |
