Show Sunday Cont. Short session so we were home at 1130. I wrote a card to Rosabelle at Stockholm. She will have her birthday (9th) there Jan (Johnston) visited. She is supremely happy after 6 mos. marriage. Nan & I took letter to PO. & took a short ride out to Bettys. A very hot day 100 degrees. Light dinner at home. Nan away until 9 pm. A pleasant day. Monday 3 Phoned Mr. Childs re trip. Our sailing on July 12 postponed to July 16. Arranged with Peggy to spend Fourth with them. To hospital for supplies. At 1 pm Marie came. We got bills paid & book balanced with her to Bank to put stocks in Safety & get out papers me home. Reading & resting pm. Melba (Hulstrom) came in eve. I gave her two gold pins. Tuesday July 4. Our flag went up early this am. (There was quite a nice rain storm in the night.) Nan & I to Salt Lake for the Fourth. I to Peggys & Nan to her sisters. I had fine visits with both Arch & Peg. Comfortable in their new home. Lunch out for a nice ride on East bench. Watched fireworks from their lovely South porch. Visiting to bed in Wednesday 5 Nice visiting reading & mixing with family. Lots of things to see and talk about. Nan came at 2 pm. We went to Am. Express Co. & got itinerary all fixed up to leave S.C. July 12th. A 3 hour job and it is very hot weather. Stopped Crossroads Motel for a good dinner. Home at 7 p.m. Ogden had a lovely rain Monday night. Gary has everything looking nice. Thurs. July 6 An insurance man came for interview with Nan. Mrs. Madson came to help Gary & visited with us. Mr. Packer returned 2 clocks from repair. The phone busy almost continuously and so passed our am. Lunch at 3 pm. Nan down town on errands. She got my Rxs from hospital for trip. I did some packing. Jodee & Janie with us 6 to 9. Alice & Charles visited. To Mrs. Brown for permanent at 11. Home at 230 Nan left me & went for her own permanent. Mr. Bobbmett came for me to sign some papers. Henry visited. Nans sister & Uncle Wilford with brother Jery & wife visited later with Nan while I went to Alice for supper. Lots of trip talk |
