Show Marguerite ‘Margo‘ Horton OGDEN - Marguerite ‘Margo’ Allen Horton, 82, passed away on Monday, June 28, 1999, at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born May 26, 1917, in St. _ Louis, Missouri, the third of five children born to the £ union of Frank E _S. and Violet Irvin Allen. Pas _ Marguerite re- fa ceived early education in the schools of St. Louis, Missouri. § She received a je Bachelor of Sci- Baas ence Degree ; from —_ Lincoln & University, Jefferson City, Mis- § souri, and a : ee Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Utah, is _ Marguerite was employed in the field of Social Work for 30 years as a social _ worker, and social work administrator _in Los Angeles, California and the State of Utah. Since her retirement as Director of the Division of Family Services, District 2-A, serving Weber, Davis and Morgan Counties, she had shared her knowledge and expertise with more than 40 local, state, and federal boards, committees, commissions, and task forces, giving endless hours of service to her community and state. Marguerite received an Honorary | Doctorate of Humanities Degree from Weber State University in 1992. | She / served as a member of Weber’s Board — of Trustees from 1993 to 1997 and on > the Board of Directors of Your Commu- nity Connection for many years. She also served with the American Associa- tion of University Women, the League — of Women Voters, the National Association of Social Workers, the Ogden Multi Cultural Advisory Board, various State and local advisory councils on aging, and numerous other organiza- | tions. _ Marguerite was a member and served as a Deaconess at Washington _ Heights Baptist Church. (Robert) Law, Ogden; Michele Horton, _ Pinole, CA; six step grandchildren, J.B.
