The course will include selecting literature and designing effective instructional strategies aligned with the Utah K-6 music core curriculum as well as the national music standards. Students will be introduced to different philosophical and pedagogical approaches as well as develop and implement age-appropriate assessment strategies. Students will develop their understanding of music's role in an interdisciplinary curriculum. A field experience with elementary-age students is required. Prerequisite: Completed Piano Proficiency.
