Political Science Departmental Honors Please contact the Political Science Department for advisement and permission prior to enrolling in Honors courses. To earn Departmental Honors in Political Science, a student must: 1. Earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5, and a GPA o f 3.7 in the major. 2. Complete POLS 4990 Senior Seminar and, in a following semester, POLS 4800 Individual Projects and Research, wherein a Senior Thesis will be researched, written and defended before a committee. 3. Take one Honors Social Science class. This will most likely be HNRS 1520: "Perspectives in the Social Sciences," which also gives the student General Education credit.
