Show Jerry and Vickie Moyes College of Education 375 If currently teaching on a provisional license • EDUC 4670 - Special Education Student Teaching Credits: (4) • EDUC 4685 - Special Education Student Teaching Seminar and Synthesis Credits: (l) OR If not currently teaching • EDUC 4581 - Pre-Student Teaching in Special Education: Assessment, Behavior Management, Instruction Credits: (4) which includes at least 60 clock hours in a K-12 school resource room setting. • EDUC 4680 - Special Education Student Teaching Credits: (8) all day for 60 days, with an assigned cooperating teaching • EDUC 4686 - Special Education Student Teaching Seminar & Synthesis for Special Education Majors Credits: (4) Successful completion of the above coursework and field work will result in a recommendationfor the Utah Level 1 Special Education (mild-moderate) License. Course Requirements for Completing MEd Degree (Special Education Licensure Track) The 43 hour program of study consists of 27 hours of licensure courses and 16 hours of additional professional MEd core requirements. A special education coursework must be taken at the graduate level to qualify for the MEd degree. A portion of the core requirement is the completion of a Master's project, an application of knowledge and skills. Introduction to the library, campus writing lab, and word processing facilities. MED 6020 - Diversity in Education Credits: (2) Typically taught: Fall [Full Sem] Spring [Full Sem] Summer [2nd Blk] Topics in this course will include issues related to differences among groups of people and individuals based on ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, gender, exceptionalities, language, religion, sexual orientation, and geographical area as they impact teaching and learning. MED 6050 - Curriculum Design, Evaluation & Assessment Credits: (3) Typically taught: Fall [Full Sem] Spring [Full Sem] Summer [2nd Blk] An overview of the theories of curriculum development as well as a practical appraisal of curriculum design, implementation, evaluation and assessment.
