Show that if I didn't attend day school, I might attend night school. They agreed that I should make the choice. I chose to continue on with day school in the 7th grade at North Junior High. I am so thankful I chose to do this. WORLD WAR I ENDS Shortly after this time, the armistice was signed. Everyone was so happy that the war was over. I recall my Father wrapping me and my sister in blankets and taking Mother and us to town to watch all the jubilant people celebrating. Dad would work during the weekdays at the school district office and deliver to the various schools the items they needed. Then he would come up the canyon each evening with supplies for us. We never needed to lock our home on Porter Avenue as Orion was there at night and was working for the railroad during the day. Conditions in the city and neighborhood were safe. My sister Ida and I have very found memories of our teenage years--of traveling up in the spring as soon as school was out to spend the summer in our canyon home. The home was |
