Show family members and discovered more about his ancestors. SURELY UNEXPECTED Sunday, May 2, 1993 Vickie Brenchley came to the house and said that the Relief Society wanted to honor me at Homemaking Meeting on May 5th. She further said that Sister Roberta West had received information and pictures from Jerry for the occasion. Later Bonnie Terry called and said that she would take me there and bring me back. There were about 28-30 people in attendance in the Relief Society room including Marge Rasmussen, Linda Allen, Lu Boothe, Evelyn Williams, Bonnie Terry, Vickie Brenchley, Linda Coleman, Joanne Ahlmer, Roberta West, Leone Johnson, Ella Parker, Meta Murphy, Cora Anderson, Jill Taylor, Lorraine Hales and daughter, Dawna Hayes, Leslie Hoxsie, and Marietta Preisler. After opening prayer by Joanne Ahlmer and preliminaries, Roberta West was introduced. She stated that the Relief Society was honoring a sister. She held up my graduation picture and asked if anyone knew who this was--only one said she did. She asked me to come up to the front. Vickie Brenchley pinned a beautiful white carnation on me. Sister West stated that from reading what she had about my life, she knew I had a testimony. Then she held up other pictures and proceeded to tell about other events of my life. I was completely surprised at this occasion although it was the plan of the ward relief society leadership at that time to occasionally honor a sister.
