Show enjoyed since our early childhood. These were happy days. Mostly our time together was made up by inventing our own games and activitiesnot a lot of fancy toys were necessary to please us. Good food and happy times spent seemed to be sufficient. Do you remember the time we visited with you and your mother in California and again when you and Ken were living in Chatsworth? You remember so many interesting things of your childhood that involved Ida and me. I hope Saturday I can call and have you tell me these things so I can jot them down-so special to have in our memories and our histories. I remember the times that your mother gave us treatments on the dining room table. She observed a great deal while working for Dr. Morrison. I hope your birthday will be pleasant and remember we will be thinking of you and wishing your better health and happiness in the coming year." 5 November 1991 MALAN REUNION "This was held at Mount Ogden Park. Ruth Whitney Peterson and Carl Peterson sat with me as well as did Shirley Luddington Collins, her daughters, and Shirley's friend from France. Other Malan relatives I spoke with were J. Malan Heslop, Garth Malan, Melba Kofoed, Madeleine Malan Marston, Asta Malan, Katherine Thomas Brady, James Barker Knighton and his daughter, Lisa, Gerald Waterfall, and Walter Malan. A Malan book is being published soon. A second book is in the works and family members are to send in photographs, histories, etc. I asked if anyone had a quality photograph of Pauline Combe Malan, my great grandmother." Summer 1992 KATHY SANSONE "Ida and I saw Kathy Sansone in the Ogden City Mall in her Christmas shop." (Note to the Reader: Kathy is so bright, energetic and personable. She was in the mall shopping and saw a lady at a table in a newly-to-be opened shop. Kathy spoke with her about what was to be in that location. The lady thought Kathy had come for an interview. The employer was so impressed with Kathy, that she was hired immediately. The employer never regretted that decision.) In the evening, presented Ida with a picture of her piano teacher, Frederic Dixon which was sketched by his friendNorman Rockwell." October 9, 1992 CHRISTMAS CAROL "SING-IN" "As Lowell and Jerry needed to be at the Ogden Tabernacle making preparations for the annual Christmas Carol "Sing-In", Luke and Marilyn Blakeley came to take me there. 1800 attended. Sat by Kathy Sansone and Char Sansone. Lowell introduced me to the guest conductor a BYU professor, Dr. Clayne Robison. |
