Show "HEAP of BEAUTY" After working for Darrel Sizemore awhile, he sold his shop to Laura Heap. We remained at the same location with the same clientele. The name of the shop was changed to "Heap of Beauty." In 1941 Laura Heap taught a class in which I was her assistant. The class included Beth Farmer, Verda Braggard Bott, Peggy Bott, and Adora Kidman. We dressed in white uniforms with white shoes. I felt Vern should know about my physical condition and perhaps he would want to marry someone else who could give him children. But Vern's mind was made up to marry me regardless. In my Patriarchal Blessing it said that if I tried to live a righteous life and be careful of my heart condition that I would have children. After we were married a little over seven years, Dr. Olson said to me that I had lived so well with my heart condition that he felt that I could now try to have children. Having my two sons was a fulfillment of this part of my Patriarchal Blessing. The Lord had greatly blessed me in the opportunity of becoming a Mother. During the eight years before having children, I was often depressed and would find myself crying when alone. However after the birth of our |
