Show me. It was a final sacrifice for us to help prepare us for this temporary separation from her. During her time in the hospital, Mother was fully aware of the situation. She wanted to get well and she wanted to return to her home in Ogden-but she has returned to the best home of all, and just in time for Christmas. As I watched Mother courageously battling, I thought of the Savior, Jesus Christ, His great love for mankind, the great atonement, and His suffering for each of us. I have a stronger testimony that He lives, watches over us, and loves us beyond measure. I'm sure our Father in Heaven marvels why we mortals greave so much to watch His children come back home to Him. On the day Mother died, I couldn't count the number of times we heard the word "sweet" used to describe her. Twenty minutes before her death, Dr. C. David Richards, one of her surgeons, stated she was the sweetest patient he ever had-And "Sweet" is the affectionate name that Jerry and I so often used to call her. The last few moments Jerry and I were with her provided me with the inspiration to write the words to the next number on the program. I consider myself a performer and not a lyricist or a composer, so we have asked our dear family friend, Brenn Hill, who is a composer, poet, and performer to be the voice for Jerry and me. Brenn we thank you so much. Trust me, we could have never done this without you. After this number, we have just a short seven minute video tribute to Mother. Again we thank you all for being here and for all that you have meant to us during our lives. We thank our dear family, and our adopted family, and all of you for being here with us. BRENN HILL, Vocal soloist accompanied by LOWELL MARRIOTT HARROP "Goodnight, Our Sweet One, Goodnight" an original composition by Lowell Marriott Harrop Good night, our love, our sweet one, goodnight- As God's kind angels take thee on flight. Thy life of love, of service, and care Through all the earth, there's none to compare. Good night, our love, our sweet one, our dear, Your love leaves us with nothing to fear. Speed on thy way to loved ones gone on, Link us on earth to Heaven beyond. |
