57 two or three months these were just very private conversations, just the two of us involved, thinking through whether this was a truly feasible proposition on which we should mount a thorough and exhaustive analysis. At the end of the Summer, we had concluded that there was, Indeed, considerable merit in a more detailed exploration, and so, we each brought in our top financial man and began to look at the numbers and, shall we say, in some considerable detail. Obviously, the overall scope, if you will, of this merger was so large that it took us a few more months to digest all of the relevant statistics and to gain familiarity that would enable us to reach a reasonably informed opinion. It was during this period In the Pall of 1975 that I went to Australia with our Vice President, Finance to look at the mines that Utah had there, in Queensland, coking coal mines, and we were not interested in having anyone know why I was going to Australia and so my presumed purpose of my visit was to just see how General Electric Equipment Motors Controls and so on gave service on drag lines out in the back country, but when I got to Australia, I arrived on the very day that the Governor General had put the Labor Government out of power, it was in November of 1975.
