Show EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Just what are extra curricular activities? Extra curricular activi¬ties are those activities that are done outside of the routine class¬room work and are the things that make school life more pleasant. It is a pity, to use an old expression, that so many students are not more interested in the work of various organizations functioning in school, yet apart from the regular line of duties. There are so many examples of these organizations in this school. The Fine Arts Society with its various sud-divided guilds promotes interest in dramati cs, a rt, music and stagecraft. The Engineering Club devotes itself to the principles of engineering and mechanical draw¬ing. Forum is an unusual club spending its time on debating and the art of public speaking. The International Friendship Club is a group of girls endeavoring to promote world friend¬ship and good-will through an under- standing of different customs, life, and principles of other nations. The Tiger Flashes group is interested in the line of radio skits end programs; The News Notes Staff columnates the activities of the school in the local paper . Athletics and music take a large quota of students and furnish sport and pleasure to a great many who do not take an active part in them. They are the most important af all mentioned above in that they interest the great¬est number of people and involve the most students. Participation in any such activi¬ties as these brings a certain enjoyment unknown to many, it developes interest and talent, leadership and confidence to a great extent. it also gives pleasure. More students ought to participate in these and other extra curricular activities .
