Show Graduation Blair Burton Debater-Orator Graduation--what a various meaning that word conveys. To some it means freedom from study, freedom to do as they please; to others it means the commencement of a college course. To still others it means a higher education, a higher learning-, and a greater op¬portunity. It is a symbol of ad-vancement, the open in- of a new part of life. To the majority of stu¬dents it calls for the assuming of responsibilities. Glad though they are to graduate, they will always miss the carefree days. Graduation means also the breaking of many old associations and the making of many new ones. Old interests must make way for the new and new friends take the place of the old. For a long time I have looked forward to the day when I would grad¬uate from high school, but now that it's near, the high school seems rather dear to ire. However, since graduation must come, here's luck and happiness to the senior class. We leave LaMoin. Suttlemyre "The man with a mighty Voice." Our inspiration is from the past. Our duty is in the present. Our Hope is in the future. We, the graduating class of 1936 , are truly grateful for the deeds and acts of past classes. It is their light and guidiance that has prompted us to accomplish our every feat. "Our inspiration is from the past." And now before we do go out of this hall of learning, it is our immediate task to be sure we have left no barriers or stumbling block in the way of the classes to come. "Our Duty is in the present." And as our work at Ogden High is finished forever, it is our greatest desire that the classes to follow will strive to attain even greater goals, and make this , Our Alma Mater, even more worthy of praise then we have been able to make her. "Our hope is in the future." "School Days are the Best." Jennie Bekker Student Body Vice-president "Personality Girl" Pep Club Member We used to think, when people told us that "school days are the best days of your life", that they were just saying it because they'd heard someone else say it. Even now when we are thinking of leaving school, we can understand the reasons for the remark. we seniors have completed our compulsory education, and are technically men and women. Some of us are going to further our education at colleges, but some of us are really going to be men and women and begin working. The fact that we are graduat¬ing means a lot to us seniors, but it also means a lot that we shall be parting from some of our very best friends. However, we can believe in |
