Show Obsequies Of Elder William George Golding Early Sunday morning on December 23, 2007, The CommanderIn Chief in Heaven dispatched an ( angel to the McKay-Dee Hospital with orders for a soldier to “Fall Out’ of formation for his new | assignment. Elder William George Golding, 88 of Roy, UT made his transition from this earthly life of trouble, pains and woes to his heavenly home in the eternal halls of glory. His battle on earth was finally over, his assignment complete and his course finished, now he is ready to receive his promotion. He was born on September 1, 1919 in Clarendon, Jamaica, the oldest of four children born to Charlie William Golding and Irene Pinnock Golding. He was the first “Man Child’ and grew up in Clarendon, where he completed the ninth grade. He came to Kansas City, MO, ona work visa, and it was there that he met and later married Rosetta Mary Ann Dudley on December 8, 1947. Utah in 1948 Pastor of the wife, the late He continued They moved to Ogden, at the request of Mother Golding’s Uncle, the late Elder David F. Griffin, Founder and Griffin Temple/Memorial Church of God in Christ to come and serve with him and his Mother Daisy Griffin in the church. This they did until her death on October 29, 1993. until his home going on last Sunday Morning. He married Bertha H. Clark on January 18, 2003 in Ogden, Utah. He was a long time faithful member of the Griffin Temple/Memorial Church of God in Christ for over fifty-nine years, where he served in various positions including Assistant Pastor and Chairman of the Trustee Board. He also served as the treasurer of the Ogden District, Jurisdictional Sunday School President and Chairman of the Elder’s Council for the Utah Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ. His interest in gardening was well known and many drew on that knowle dge to help in their personal gardens and flower beds. His great love for people was also well known and included many friends ¢ and the self and he never met a stranger and even if he did they did not remain that way for long. He remained to end a family man and always provided for his family at the expense of personal gratification and fulfillment. He also received several awards, plaques and trophies that recognized his faithfulness sacrifice. He worked at various jobs, including the Barrack Car Wash, Southern Pacific Railroad for over thirty-four years until his retirement in 1982 and the Eccles Family for many years until his death. He was preceded in death by both parents, his first wife, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Bertha of Roy; Children: Lynda Golding; Omaha, NB. Alma Joy(Alvin) Scranton; Omaha, NB Paula McDonald; Chandler, AZ Daisy(Henry) McAllister; Clearfield, UT, William Golding, Jr; Kansas City, MO Eloise(David) Snell; Idaho Falls, 1D, Lawrence (Esther) Golding; Chandler, AZ John(Sally) Golding; Roy, UT. Four step-children: Ralph (Pamela) Clark; Roy, UT Ronald Clark; SLC, UT Terry Wise; SLC, UT and Tabitha Cherry; Dallas, TX. He also 1s survived by thirty grandchildren, fourteen great-grand children, two god children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Griffin Memorial Church of God in Christ. 2424 E Avenue, Ogden with Bishop Bobby Allen, Officiating. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden on Friday, December 28" from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service.
