On April 5, 2008, the sweet spirit of our dear wife and mother, Mrs. Bessie A. Lilly went to join the Savior in that home not built with hands, but whose maker and Builder is God. She was born December 26, 1935, in Union town (Perry County), AL to the late Aubrey and Frankie Butler Austin. She received her education in the public schools, Elementary, Overton Elementary, Rosedale Irondale Jr. High School in Birmingham AL. She graduated from Moton High School, Birmingham AL. Mrs. Lilly also attended Gadsden St. Jr. College; Gadsden, AL; Gadsden Business College, Gadsden, AL. and Miles College, Birmingham, AL. When a child she was Macedonia Baptist converted Church, and joined the Overton, AL. and was baptized by the late Rev. T.J. Marayne. She loved the church and loved to serve in any place that she could--a faithful Christian until her death. She was united in holy matrimony to Rev. Herbert J. Lilly, September 19, 1954 in Overton, AL. She was a Special Education Aide at the David Gourley Elementary School, Kearns UT. Mrs. Lilly was a member of the New Life Baptist Church, where she served under Rev. H.]J. Lilly. She was the Chaplain of the Minister Wives association.
