Hallelujah! was born on lrene Bessie Bradley Turner (known to many as “MAMA” or Ms. Irene), (BIG DADDY) Sept. 17; 1924 to Leola Hubbard Allen (BIG MAMA) and Lucious Bradley in New Boston, Texas. Irene Turner passed from this life, Saturday, December 13, ‘us’ 84 2008, peacefully while she slept. Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior gave filled life. WE beautiful years of Irene Turner. Mama was blessed with a full and spirit | | THANK GOD FOR HER. was raised > Irene had been a warm and nurturing person since she was a little girl. She and in New Boston, Texas. In 1940 Irene married LaSalle Turner Sr. (Leggett, Texas) together they had nine children; Clarence Earl, charles Ear, Adolph, BernaDean, no LaSalle Jr., Lizette, Lucy Ann, Sharon and Lonnie Joseph. Mama believed that felt rich matter how poor a person was; if you had a good family, you're rich. And she warmth beyond measure with her children. Irene worked several jobs over the years to make ends meet for her She worked at the Worland Café and Grill, the Del Monte Cannery, the Holiday City _ Inn and for Ogden City Schools. In 1988 Irene Turner retired from the Ogden was Schools. Irene lived in Ogden, Utah for over 55 years. Throughout her life she never far from children; great-great-great grandchild, her own or others. She loved able and family. It was a blessing to have known her; so very many people felt comfort _at ease in calling her ‘MAMA’ or Ms. IRENE. They'd turn to her for support and hand compassion. Always a warm smile to give, a kind thought to share and a helping she to lend, Irene Turner will always be remembered for the warmth and sincerity | showed towards everyone she met. In her way of reaching out to those in need, she served God until her death. MAMA always had a warm smile and made everyone feel comfortable. She never turned _ sleep. anyone away, always offered a meal, an ear to listen and if necessary, a place to MAMA Irene gave endless love and kindness. Irene really enjoyed people and they love loved her too. She was friendly, out-going and had a sense of humor. And she Bingo! Up until her illness you could find her playing at the Alano Club. She made . ed and many lifelong friends out of Ogden’s Bingo Halls. Irene was always interest they concerned about people and wanted you to be content. Mama enjoyed people and loved her. | |
