Our father died when Frank was very young and he had to grow up real fast, taking on the role to help mom provide for us kids. I am told that he was a real go getter. He sold iron, rags, junk or anything else that would bring money into the home. Oh yeah! He also sold watermelons, someone said he ate as many bp Bieltet Frank and I grew up without our father. My mother took over the reins in 1935 after our father’s death. In spite of the need for the necessities of life like food . clothing etc. she taught us to love the Lord and to keep our morals at all times. as he sold (smile). I know he sure did like them. When I was growing up, he left home and went into the military. » Then he worked for Union Pacific railroad as a waiter. He moved to Ogden Utah where he met his lovely wife. It seemed I always was following him. I went to Utah, California ,then later to Arizona. We parted in Arizona. I will meet up with him later. Frank had a remarkable memory. We would talk about the past and he would remind me of things I had forgotten. I will carry fond memories in my heart of my big brother. I remember trying to follow him but I was just a little bit too young. Charles was with him most of the time while he was busy making money to help mom raise us. Frank was a real man he was always on top of everything. When we finished school, Frank had a man from Missouri to bring Charles, Vernon, Emma Lee, baby Sharon and me out to Utah where he was employed with Union Pacific Railroad. Then, ; aad | with Franks help I was also employed by Union Pacific Railroad as a waiter and cook, I will always be thankful to him for the help he gave me. , Ike Life is like a long train ride.
