Ruby Hester _ OGDEN - Ruby Jewell Hester passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born November 22, | 1924 in Stephens, AK; the daughter of Alvin Moss and Mary Hunter. Ruby was raised by her loving stepfather Edward Carter and mother Mary Carter. She was educated in public schools in Stephens. , Ruby married Clifton Hester on August 17, 1939 in Stephens, AR. They later moved to Ogden, Utah in 1951 for better job opportunities. This union was blessed | with nine children. Ruby united with St. James AME Church at an early age and later. united with New Zion Church where she was an active member and served on the usher board for many years. Her pride and joy were her family, growing a beautiful garden and planting flowers, she also enjoyed cooking for her family and others; and trips to Wendover. | _.. Everyone will miss visiting the Hester ways home because extended Ruby love and al- — kind- ness to everyone. She is survived’by her loving husband, Clifton Hester and children, James (Beverly) Hester, Ogden, Gail Hester, CA, Sammie © Hester, Ogden, Diane (Jerry) | Lancaster, VA, Sharon (Edward) | Hilton, West Haven, Renece > Hester, Ogden, Christopher (Christina) Hester, Ogden. One sister, Odiemae (Leon) Richards, AR; two special nephews Darnell (Sherri) Green, IA, Kironda TBoy Richards, AR; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren: three great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; numerous | cousins; one great-nephew; two great-great-nephews. A special thanks to Hobert Reeves who has been a great addition to our family. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and - daughters, Carrie and Wilma Hester. 3 The family will greet friends on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6 to 8 pm and Monday, August 9th from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., the service will begin at 11 a.m. with Reverend Charles Petty presiding.
