Show 6 January, Tuesday. I spent the morning down town paying bills & making more. Bought linen for home use since we have been advised by our Church Welfare to have a supply of cloths, food etc for two years at least. I have at least plenty for a year or more. This War is the worst in History and while we have felt but little of it so far from now on we are in it to the finish. And with help from above in doing right we hope to win that we may still live & help others to live in peace and happiness. Went to 5 Ward Relief Society. Our Stake Mt Ogden went over top in membership for 100,000 membership in the Church. Salernos School, in conclave high, unites To counsel Englands King, and thus indites: If thou to health and vigor wouldst attain, Shun weighty cares all anger deem profane, From heavy suppers and much wine abstain. Nor trivial count it, after pompous fare, To rise from table and to take the air. Shun idle, noonday slumber, nor delay The urgent calls of Nature to obey.
