Show 27, June, Saturday. Have sewed some am knitting for Red Cross. Went to show with Oscar & Oertel. Dr very buisy these days perfered to stay home. I had not been n months so enjoyed it. WILLIAM WILLIAMS KEEN (1837 TO 1932) Dean of American surgery, William Keen served actively in the Civil, Spanish American and World Wars. He was an exceptional and universally beloved teacher, as well as a great surgeon who made notable contributions to the surgery of the brain, the spine and the nerves. He is well known as the co editor of the American Textbook of Surgery and as editor of the System of Surgery, which are considered among the best American works of their kind. Sunday, June 28. Dr & I called for Dr Joe Thatcher who went to S.S. with us. Dr Will Baker was there also. We had them as our guests to lunch at Dicks Caf. We all of us are richer than we think we are MONTAIGNE.
