Show 31 March, Tuesday. Our sons birthday. Thair C. Rich born 1904 is 38 yrs old. He has always been a fine loving son. Wish he could be with us today. I have finished The March of the Mormon Battalion by Frnak Alfred Golder very good. Went to 5 Ward Relief Society. Wrote a letter to my nephew Mose Cozzens and sent him his first letter to me when about seven yr old also his fathers letter written at the time of his birth. He was Orens only child. HEINRICH VON PFOLSPEUNDT (D. 1533?) No more than a wound surgeon, Heinrich von Pfolspeundt did not know how to treat fractures or dislocations, and left major operations to the cutters or incisors. As a Bavarian army surgeon, he gained experience in arrow wounds, and his book makes the first faint allusion to two things: powder burns and the extraction of bullets by means of sound; The title of this work is Biindth Ertznei, written in 1460. Wednesday, April 1. My niece Emily (Marks daughter) came to visite me today she has a husband in Honolulu in the Service also has a 3 yr old son. She was at Pearl Harbor when the Japs made their first strike. Says it was terriable. She lived there three years. Mark drove from Midvale his home to take her back.
