Show Utahs roll of honor in World war II a list of the fighting men from this state reported killed or missing in action since last December 7 appears on page 6 of todays Tribune. Many of them are known to be dead. Many others are reported merely as missing. Of these, some have fallen in combat in battles far from home, some have been cast adrift by sinking ships. in the Pacific ocean, some have been taken captive by the Japs, and some no one now knows how many may still be fighting with gueriila bands in the lands overrun by the enemy. The armistice that ended another world war will be commemorated in the midst of the present, more bitter struggle by an Armistice day observance in Salt Lake City Wednesday that promises to be the greatest since that of 1918. |
