Show 1 June, Monday. Dr & I Attended a Luncheon at Pioneer Hall honoring Past Pres. Brigham Young his 141 Birthday Anniversary. A nice time. Given by D.U.P. to raise funds toward Pioneer Memorial Bldg. R.A.F. Armada Eng. Wrecks Cologne. Blasting by 1,250 planes fires Key Rhine City. 6,000,000 pounds of bombs rained on Industrial Rail Center in Historys mightiest Air Raid. The newspapers are so full of death & disaster one wonders when this most Terriable World War will be over and one shudders to think of it all. But Right must win. June 30 days. Mead sickens men, nor is it fit for food In June, nor any ale thats newly brewed. And to disarm the bile adopt this rule: Eat lettuce leaves and drink from natures pool. Tuesday, June 2. Let Me Remember... God, let me be as brave as these great men Whose names are listed here. Let me remember, when Stark fear would grip and courage fade, The price of freedom The sacrifice they made That we might walk the earth with head Unbowed. Let me be proud instead That I can carry on for them And count it glory just to touch the hem Of sacred garments that they have made their own These men who have their names engraved in stone.
