Show 22 May, Friday. Acacia met in S.L.C. at the Art Barn with Mabel Ure & Margret Higginbothom as hostess Mrs Walter Kerr gave a paper on Paris very interesting. JOHN WARREN (1753 to 1815) Distinguished as an army surgeon of the Revolutionary War and as one of the founders of Harvard Medical School, whose first professor of anatomy and surgery he became. His army service gave him much experience in dealing with dysentery and what was probably typhoid fever. In 1781, he amputated at the shoulder joint, and in 1804 he excised the parotid gland. He was among the first to practice the healing of wounds by first intention. Saturday, May 23. Mrs George Ensign announced engagement of her daughter Ferrill to Not well so did not go.
