Show 18 December, Friday. Washed &iorned napkins for use at party tonight and have rested some after doing every day work of cooking & keeping up home as usual. The party went over fine much same as last night about 80 came & all seemed to enjoy meeting Heber & Lucile many of their friends of 25 yr ago came. POMP AND CEREMONY When the renowned faculty of Paris gathered for a solemn ceremony, it was a grandiose spectacle. Quadrated bonnets were on their heads, and their cassocks of violet silk were covered with ermine trimmed red robes. The throng of students were dressed in the black robes of bachelors. On a raised chair, the dean presided over the assembly. A mace bearer stood at either side; another walked the floor before the august gathering. Such a mace bearer in all ceremonial splendor, is here shown. Saturday, December 19. Have sent out many Xmas cards and a box to Junior. Registration for gasoline starts today.
