Show Wednesday, October 14. I bottled 35 pints of tomato juice & made 3 pts of green tomato pickle. Wrote a letter to Avon and knit some on Army sweater. Agnes H. Oct 13 MONTPELIER, Idaho Mrs. Agnes Hogensen Pearce, 78, said to have been the first white child born in Bear Lake county, died Monday at her home here, of ailments incident to age. She was born at Paris, on November 9, 1863, a daughter of Christian and Pedra Hogensen, pioneer settlers of Bear Lake county, and had lived in Montpelier since she was a small child. Once a teacher in local schools, Mrs. Pearce had been active in L D S church affairs. She served as president of the stake and ward Relief societies at Montpelier for many years. Her husband, Charles R. Pearce, died several years ago. Surviving are eight sons and daughters: Mrs. W. Lewis Perkins, Mrs. Elmer Burgoyne and Miss Nettie Pearce, all of Montpelier; Mrs. C. K. Sorensen of Farmington, Mrs. Burton K. Farnsworth, Mrs R. D. Shelton, Rulo nand Norman Pearce, all of Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 12:15 p. m. in the Montpelier First L D S ward chapel. Burial will be in Montpelier City cemetery. |
