Show Jessie Ann Richard Scott Anderson ROY - Jessie Ann Anderson, 95, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007 at the Manor Care Health Services in Ogden. Jessie Ann was born on June 20, 1911 in Foreman, Ark. She was the T" child of Jesse and Ella Richard. Upon Ella’s death in 1926, Jessie Ann was raised by her uncle and aunt, Papa Jim and Mama Essie Ellis, on a farm in Foreman, AK. Jessie Ann attended the New Dora Baptist Church School and completed the 6"" Grade. Without formal training, Jessie Ann became an accomplished was a God-given talent. She worked at Hill Air Force Base in a variety of positions from 1942 until her retirement in 1985 as a packer. Jessie Ann was an active member of New Zion Baptist Church in Ogden for more than 40 years. She was baptized into the LDS Church on June 6, 1997 and became a member of the 23 Ward in Roy, presided by Bishop Robert Higginson. Jessie Ann was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend. She gave her love wholeheartedly and unconditionally. Jessie Ann enjoyed gospel music and Christian TV programs. She also loved watching movies, one of her favorites was, ‘The 5 Heartbeats.” Jessie Ann was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Lonnie, John, Buster, Willie, Gus (Buddy), and Henry (Hoss), and three sisters, Leola, Mae Ella, and Sarah. Jessie Ann’s first husband, George (Jabo) Scott passed away in 1952, and her second husband, Ivery Anderson passed away in 1988. Also preceding her in death were two sons, Jesse and Galveston (Sonny), two daughters Ella and Christie Belle, and five grandchildren, Kathy Scott, Sharon Hopkins, Dennis Hopkins, Debra Scott Burnett, and Tony Scott. Jessie Ann is survived by five children: Bennie Mae Hopkins of Stockton, CA., George (Marvine) Scott, Sylvester (Sherrie) Scott, Donald (Brenda) Scott, and Darletha (Al), all of Ogden. One brother-in-law, E.G. (Thelma) Scott, one sisterin-law, Dorothy Jackson of San Bernardino, CA, and one daughter-in-law, Verna Walker of Berkeley, CA. Jessie Ann also is survived by more than 50 grandchildren, more than 70 great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
