Show 17 February, Tuesday. Oertel and I attended a very nice luncheon at Green Gables given by Mrs Ezra Richardsen and Mrs C.H. Barton for Mrs Harnesss sister in law who is visiting here. We called at Cleones to hear Mossaye Boguslawski a Russian pianist who was playing for her he was the piano soloist at St Louis Symphony concert last night & as she could not go he offered to play for her. A very cold night. The winter months are cold and damp and drear, And tables then should groan neath generous cheer. Be bleedings slight; be strong purgations none, And roasted dishes to a turn be done. With pepper season every kind of meat; And once a month refresh loves urgent heat. Wednesday, February 18. Have spent some time reading & writing. Gladys Richs Conteta Angels of Mercy was sung by the Sing Mothers of our five Weber Stakes tonight for the first time. I shall go to hear it Friday night.
