Show 18 August, Tuesday. Dr Ezra Rich is 78 yr old today & feeling very well. Maren E. Hardy is twenty three. A very dear mother. A lot of company today. Mr & Mrs G.L. Becker celebrate their 50th Wedding day. Oscar, Oertel, Cleone Junior & Blanch went. Dr & I should like to have gone had we been well enough. Dr is home sick in bed my brother Earl came to see me he works at Hill Field. Drs tem 102 A FEE CONSCIOUS PHYSICIAN It has been said that the picturesque thirteenth century philosopher, Peter of Abano, would not attend patients for less than 150 florins a day, and that from Pope Honorius IV he demanded 400 ducats for each days attendance. The Pope promised a 100 florins, but gave 1000 on recovery of his health. Peter of Abano received 500 pounds a month as a teacher, and he was suspected of magically bringing back to his purse the money he had spent. Wednesday, August 19. Gean B. Ellis gave a dinner party for Junior our family who are here all went sorry Dr & I could not go. Dr is quite sick today tem 2 degrees. I have been up all day so retired early Dr Ezra has been very attentive to Edward. Drs temperture 102 Dr Bartlett called We may give advice but we cannot instill conduct ROCHEFOUCAULD. WARNERS CALENDAR OF MEDICAL HISTORY. |
