Show U. S. Orders Check Up on Enemy Aliens WASHINGTON, Feb. 20 All United States attorneys have been authorized to make spot checks on enemy alien compliance with wartime regulations by searches of their homes or business places, a justice department official said Friday. Since an enemy alien has no legal rights, it was explained, it will not be necessary to obtain search warrants. Such spot checks have been made on the west coast and quantities of forbidden articles, such as cameras, firearms and short wave radio receiving sets, have been seized. The searches are being made by FBI agents acting on authority from the United States attorney in the district. |
