Show Dedication They discussed, planned, made decisions, sought funding, let contracts, built, bought, donated, dug, planted, watered, fertilized, weeded, nurtured, and worked hard. Our city park system grew. The Marriott and the Slaterville Parks date back to pioneer days. We are grateful for their insight in keeping these areas available for us. These parks have been transferred by the L.D.S. Church to the city, to remain parks in perpetuity. Since the inception of the city two more parks and a nature park have been created. Under the guidance of appointed committees, both the Marriott and Slaterville Park boweries have been reconstructed into wonderful new facilities. The park behind the city office complex is becoming a thing of beauty with many facilities to enjoy. The Marriott Heritage Park and the Nature Park are works in progress. None of this could happen without many people. This year we dedicate this volume of our history to OUR PARK PEOPLE-ALL OF THEM committees, staff, volunteers, builders, planters, weeders, donors. Thank you for the beauty and joy you have given to the community. |
