Show The Pioneer Post Volume XI Issue 9 Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter September 2009 1570 West 400 North - Phone 801-627-1919 MUNICIPAL ELECTION/ A municipal election will be held in November. The names of the candidates, in alphabetical order by district/seat and surname, as they will appear on the November ballot for the 2009 election is as follows: Mayor: Keith H. Butler. East District: Delbert F. Hodson. West District: Kim R. Slater. Utah Election Law now requires EVERY VOTER to provide valid voter identification EVEN IF YOU ARE PERSONALLY KNOWN BY THE POLL WORKER. VALID ID INCLUDES: ONE (1) of the following: 1. Utah driver license. 2. ID card issued by the state or US government. 3. Utah concealed weapon permit. 4. US Passport. 5. Tribal ID card (with or without photo). OR, TWO (2) of the following: 1. Utility bill from within last 90 days. 2. Bank or financial statement. 3. Certified birth certificate. 4. Social security card. 5. State or federal check. 6. Paycheck from your employer. 7. Valid Utah fishing or hunting license. 8. Valid military ID card. 9. Certified naturalization document. 10. Valid license issued by agency of US government. 11. Certified court record of adoption or name change. 12. Bureau of Indian Affairs card. 13. Valid Medicaid, Medicare, or Electronic Benefits Transfer card. 14. Valid card issued by: a local government within Utah, employer, college, university, technical school, or vehicle registration. 15. Other single source documents that show ID and residence within the voting precinct. If the poll worker is satisfied with the proof of identity and the residency shown, a record of the type of documents presented is made in the Official Register. If the voter is unable to provide sufficient proof, the pool worker will make a note of the lack of proof in the Official Register and require voter to vote on a Provisional Ballot. Voter must provide proof of valid identification to County Clerk within five (5) days of the election to make ballot countable. Any write-in candidate must register their intent to run with the city recorder as provided in Utah Election Law. /CRAP METAL CLEAN-UP DRIVE Do you have scrap metal or a junk car around your yard? If you do, help clean-up the city and donate your junk metal for beautification projects. There is a dumpster at the City Office in the rear parking lot for junk metal of all kinds. Metal only! No other junk will be accepted. If you have a junk car to donate, please call Bill at the City Office, 801-627- 1919 ext. 205, to schedule a time to pick it up. You must provide a clear title with a donated car. PLANNING COMMISSION TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15,2009 - 7:00 P.M. ***MEETING CANCELLED*** This agenda is tentative. Items can and will change. CITY COUNCIL MEETING THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17,2009 - 6:30 P.M 1. Call to Order/Approval of minutes. 2. Business licenses, if any. 3. Municipal sewer rates. 4. LOCAL UPDATE/ Sewer Plant Construction. In September Central Weber Sewer Improvement District finally hopes to complete its construction on 2800 West and Pioneer Road. 2800 West will be completed first, with Pioneer Road after. Pioneer Road will be closed for approximately three days for road replacement and residents will be detoured via the new 2800 West. Thank you to the residents who have been very cooperative during this difficult project. 191 |
