Show Happy Birthday to You! November 1, 2009 November 8, 2009 Peterson Peterson Milo Peterson of Marriott-Slaterville will celebrate his 95th birthday. Friends and family may attend an open house in his honor from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Mound Fort Cultural Hall, 827 W. 1700 South, Marriott-Slaterville. He was born on Nov. 3, 1914,' in Marriott to John and Emily Peterson. He lived his younger years in Kanesville. He has lived in Roy and married Lavon Child in 1938. Their children are Kent "Patch" Peterson, Judy Christensen, Eileen Carr (deceased), David Peterson and Barbara Brown. Lavon Child died on Sept. 13,1995. He later married Elna Clifford. She died on Jan. 26, 2006. He is known by family and friends for his yard and garden of which he enjoys sharing the bounty. He also enjoys golfing and has spent many winters residing in St. George. He now spends much of his time with his family. Slater Slater Keith W. Slater of Marriott-Slaterville City celebrated his 80th birthday on Nov. 2. A birthday celebration with family and a few friends was held in his honor at Bella's Fresh Mexican Grill in Farr West. He was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Ogden, to Raymond and Nevada Slater. The oldest of five children, his sister and brothers are Gwen Rhodes, Myrl Slater, Doyle Slater and John Slater. Much of his youth was spent working on the family farm. He attended Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High School in 1947. In 1950, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served four years. He attended Weber State College, rode bulls and broncos in rodeos and raced horses as a jockey. He married Marilynne D. Henrie on Oct. 5, 1956. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He retired from the Defense Depot Ogden in 1989 with 42 years of federal service. Since 1989 he has been the greens keeper for Mulligans Golf course. An active member of the Marriott-Slaterville 2nd ward, he has been the financial clerk for many years. He is a carpenter and handy-man, raises several cows a year providing beef for his family, and has always been a hard worker. His hobbies included; rodeos, carpentry, bowling, camping, fishing, golfing and gardening . His two children and their spouses are Brad and Pam Slater, and Susan and Tori Frandsen, all of Marriott Slaterville City. He has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 212 |
