MATTHEW HATFIELD/Standard-Examiner A 22-year-old driver, who was later cited for failure to yield, turned in front of an oncoming car and ended up upside-down on top of it Friday in Ogden, police say. Drivers of the three vehicles involved reported only bumps and bruises in the 1:17 p.m. crash, says Ogden Police Lt. Dave Tarran. According to police reports, a Marriott-Slaterville man was driving his 2002 Ford Ranger northbound in the lefthand turn pocket to go west on 17th Street when he turned in front of a 1993 Chevrolet going south in the inside lane of Wall Avenue approaching 17th Street. The impact of the crash flipped the Ford Ranger onto the top of an eastbound 2004 Cadillac CTS that was stopped at a red light at 17th and Wall. Man loses most of hand in accident MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — A 21 -year-old man lost most of his hand in an industrial accident Thursday. Police say the man, who works for Mountain Crest Woodworks, 1527 S. 1100 West, got his right hand caught in the precision router machine he was using when he slipped and lost his balance around 3:12 p.m. The man lost his middle, ring and pinkie fingers, and most of his hand down to the wrist, said Weber County Sheriffs Lt. Philip Howell. Employees came to his aid until authorities arrived. He was then transported to McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden.
