Show Scott Elwin Slater Slaterville - Our loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, Scott Elwin Slater, 51, returned back into the loving arms of his Heavenly Fa- ther on Friday, April 17, 2009 due to a car accident. He was born April 28, 1957 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Elwin and Dolores Maw Slater. On Au-_ gust 7,1981 he married Mary Ann Hall of Raymond, Alberta, Canada. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 4,1983. Scott graduated from Weber High School in 1975. He was a lifelong resident of Slaterville; except for the two years he served on an LDS Mission in Japan. He was a member of the Slaterville 3rd Ward. He served in various church callings; Sunday School, Elders Quorum, and Executive Secretary. Scott was a fun loving, charismatic, and caring person. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved making people laugh, and always had a practical joke for every situation. Scott enjoyed sports, fishing, camping, boating, motorcycling, reading, and the time spent with his family. One of his favorite activities was spending time with his friends the "'Boys of Slaterville." He worked for Qwest Communications for 30 years and enjoyed the many friendships he made there. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; four children, Chelsey (Mark) Westergard, Jordan (Jennie) Slater, Jeremy (Jenna) Slater and Sharlee Slater; five grandchildren, Tytan, Carter, Garrett, Korver and Londyn; his mother Dolores; three sisters, Doloy (Michael) Skeen, Shawnee (Larry) Adams, Mindy (Barry) Nebeker; mother-in-law, Margaret Hall and brothers-in- law, Morris Hall and Bryce (Becky) Hall of Raymond, Alberta, Canada. He was preceded in death by his father Elwin James Slater; a brother Winn L. Slater, father-in- law Bert Hall and a grandson Bryant Westergard. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Marriott-Slaterville Third Ward, 250 North 1500 West. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 22nd at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Plain City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com Obituaries 2009 Lois Ethel Butler Casper Wy - Lois Ethel Butler, 89 passed away May 30, 2009 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center, Casper, WY. She was born April 19, 1920 in Cen- terfield, UT to Ephriam Alon- zo Bertleson and Nancy Christensen. Lois was united in marriage to Oscar Bitton Butler April 16, 1942 in Marriott, UT. Lois resided in Ogden and retired from American Linen after 30 years of service. She moved to Casper in 2007 to be near her family. Lois loved to travel and spend time with family and friends; she and Oscar loved camping and hunting. Lois always took great pride in her yard and flowers. Survivors include her son Ralph (Dianne) Butler; granddaughters Kellie(Tim) Moreno, Stacy Butler and Nikki(Vince) Pacheco; great-grandchildren Ryan Butler and Alexei Moreno, and many nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 35 years Oscar, son Gary, brother George Bertleson and sister Rozella Bertleson. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden where friends may call prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com Julie Godfrey Ross Julie Godfrey Ross, 47, passed away on May 7, 2009 at her home after a long illness. She was born on August 28, 1961 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Mervin Godfrey and Venna Thompson. She married Daniel Ross on June 29, 1984. She was a life long resident of j Ogden. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ ■ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her husband and children, Trevor and Haylee, who were her life. She is also survived by her mother, step father, Kenneth Balls, and two sisters, Sheryl (Shawn) Byers, Nancy Shupe, two step-sisters and three stepbrothers, David, Roland, Kevin, Shauna Balls, and Rachelle Bo- drero, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and sister Marilyn. The family would like to thank Dr. Brent Williams for all his care. Graveside services will be held Wednesday May 13 at 11 a.m. at North Ogden, Ben Lomond Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at aaronsmortuary.com Daniel Carver Ross Daniel Carver Ross died May 14, 2009 at the age of 46. Dan was born June 29 1962 to Clara Carver and Merrill Rigby Ross. He married Julie Godfrey on June 29, 1984 and together they had two beautiful children, Trevor and Haylee. Dan graduated from * Ogden High School in 1980 and was a lifelong resident of Ogden. He is survived by his children and brothers Barry Ross and Kyle (Elizabeth) Ross and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his beloved wife Julie. We invite friends and family to join us for a viewing and remembrance from 10-11am on Wednesday May 20th at the Marriott Slaterville Ward located at 250 N 1500 W with cremation to follow.
