Halloween Activities October 20, 2009 October 31, 2009 s hurch plans family alloween event MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — First United Methodist Church, 1339 W. 400 North, will have its 2nd Annual Harvest 5K Run and Chili Cook-off this Saturday. The 5K Run, 2-Mile Walk and 1-Mile Kid Fun Run will start at 10 a.m. at the west entrance of Business Depot Ogden near the intersection of 1200 West and 400 North. The entry fee for the race is $22. The run will be timed with awards for the top three places in each age group. There will also be a prize drawing for all participants. Refreshments will be served after the race. The chili cook-off will start around 11 a.m. at the church, with voting for the best chili being cast by money. The chili with the most money at the end will win. All money raised will benefit the George E. Wahlen Northern Utah Veterans Home just north of the church. Cornbread and drinks will also be available for sale. Family activities include a climbing wall, horseback rides, a pumpkin launch, small bounce houses, a Halloween costume contest and games. The day should wrap up around 2 p.m., just in time for trick or treating.
