During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

CALOMEL-PLUMMERS PILLS The process for making calomel was first described in the seventeenth century in the Basilica Chymica of Oswald Crollius, where it bore the name Arcanum corallinum seu mercurius sublimatus noncorrosivus. Compound pills of antimony orginated for a formula devised by Andrew Plummer, who published his formula in 1751. The name Plummers Pills later came to be associated with the compound calomel pills of the Edinburgh Pharmacopoeia of that century.
