Show 21 OCTOBER 293 DAYS PAST Tuesday 72 DAYS TO COME A very uncertain day as to weather rain then sunshine & quite cold & damp. Attended Relief Society 5 Ward. A humerious lesson was given as humor will be studied in Literature this year. Very interesting. I was asked to dismiss with prayer Oertel visited 8 Ward R.S. as she is a member of Ogden Stake R.S. Board. She called for me at 5 Ward & we went over to the 4th Ward to a class given by Mrs Hoggan on writing of biographys. A Federal project. Dr & I voted for city Mayor I voted for Fred Abbitt who has served the past two years. Harmon Peery is the only on running against hind, he served four years previous to Abbitt. TAR ROADS AND LUNG CANCER Kling, Samssonov and Heros think road tarring a cause for the increase of primary pulmonary cancer in France. The tar used contains benzopyrine, a substance inducing epidermal epithelioma type cancers in animals. Adhering solidly to silica and other particles, the benzopyrine-impregnated dust can be borne far. The authors, in a communication to the Acadmey of Medicine, suggest non-cancerigenic substances for coating roads such a natural pitch and resin. Eat Live Frogs To eat live frogs was a northern Italian cure for stomach ulcers and intestinal inflammation. Aside from its dubious curative value, if such a prescription were handed today to the average patient, he would probably decide that the ulcers were the lesser of two evils. Ease of administration and palatability that pleases the patient are no less features of GELUSIL than its effectiveness as protective therapy in peptic ulcer, and in the symptomatic treatment of gastro-enteritis (diarrhea) and colitis. Gelusil offers in combination the advantages of aluminum hydroxide gel with magnesium trisilicate in colloidal suspension. It is not constipating, because if forms no astringent aluminum chloride with the gastric acid. Gelusil does not deprive the body of calcium and phosphorus and, unlike soluble alkalies, it does not overneutralize and evoke secondary acid rise. Its antacid effect is prompt and prolonged; no alkalosis is produced because Gelusil is not absorbed. That briefly, is the therapeutic story of Gelusil. Why not let a trial substantiate these statements? You may obtain a liberal supply by writing us. When doing so, please mention the Warner Calendar-Diary. WILLIAM R.
