Junior called SQUILL- MANY CENTURIES OLD Through the ages, squill has held its own as an effective diuretic and expectorant, and as a heart tonic. It was probably known to the Babylonians, and the Egyptians called it eye of Typhon. Hippocrates and Dioscorides refer to it. According to Pliy, Pythagoras wrote a treatise on squill to which he attributed magic virtues. Pythagoras also mentioned acetum scillae. PYTHAGORAS (580-489 B.C.)
