During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show 9 OCTOBER 281 DAYS PAST Thursday 84 DAYS TO COME Mrs Chris Flygare & I called to see Mayor Abbott regarding back taxes on curb & guttering of Pioneer Hall He promised to settle with us tomorrow. At 2 30 P.M. I attended Drama Club. guest of Oertel. Cleone was hostess. Jos. Fielding Smith Jr gave a talk on Art & the Drama, Our yard was cleared to day of broken & up rooted trees done during the bad wind storm of 2 weeks ago. SALT WATER BOILS This is a painful affliction of deep-sea fishermen, affecting only men directly handling fish on deck; particularly boatswains, who stand beneath the bag of fish with upraised forearms before releasing the catch on deck. Lesions occur only on the wrists and forearms, and there is usually no constitutional disturbance. The condition is marked by folliculitis with chronic and acute inflammatory reactions. (W. B. Evans, Brit. M. J., Oct. 29, 1938.) Friday 282 DAYS PAST OCTOBER 10 83 DAYS TO COME I went to Salt Lake City with Oertel arrived there at 11 30 A.M. I first went to the Temple to see Pres. Stephen L. Chipman regarding the sealing of my great grand parents and also their children to them Orrin Phelps Merrill & wife Emily Phelps Merrill. He gave his consent and Bro John Christensen with whom I left the Groupe sheet said he would see it was done. Also left 1.50 for endownments to be done for one male & two female on Cozzens line 1.00 Temple donation. Spent some time in research. Gave up Mrs Baird & now have Mrs Peterson for research work WARNERS CALENDAR OF MEDICAL HISTORY Closes Career- Dr. George Thom- Utah university president, will replace Monday by Dr. LeRoy Cowles. Dr. Thomas will become president-emerus. Nov. 9-1944 |
