LAUGHTER AND TEARS The clinical neurologist associates uncontrolled outbursts of laughter or crying with cerebrovascular disease and with disseminated sclerosis, but the pathologist finds a multiplicity of lesions at autopsy. Observing 53 patients showing pathological laughter and crying, Davison and Kelman examined 33 at autopsy. 26 had vascular lesions; 6 disseminated sclerosis. 31 lesions involved the cortex; in 15 they were mainly confined to the basal structures. Rich and Cleone Rich Eccles and I. Oertel prepared & served the food and it was delicious. She also sang a number of songs. Her voice is lovely and I certainly enjoyed hearing her again after three years. O, it is so good to have her live near us after 18 years. It was a very nice afternoon. The Browning Girls are very fine wemon. This evening Dr & I called over to the 5 Ward to say good by to Bro Handy who leaves for a mission soon. We then called over to 18 Ward. To leave a donation for Bro & Sister Martins Dalebout who are leaving for a short mission to Calif. He & his brothers have served 13 yr. in mission work.
