Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

Rich made Commanding Officers of Medical Detachment a present 600 soldiers Letterman Hospital) San Francisco Feb. 2 Lynne Rich baptized by Elder Read 12 Ward Feb. 28 Oscar Russell was appointed supt. Of the Utah Deaf & Blind school Feb 6. Blanch & Junior left for a six week trip to south & central America will go from via of pan American air ways from Los Angeles the 8th. Ma Jr & Blanch returned from their trip. Mar 16 Myrene & Sharlene Brewer went for a trip to Calif. Mar 17 Oscar had meeting at the D & D. School with all members of the Board at which the they approved his contract & what he suggested April 2 Aunt Mary Jones came to visite for a few days. Mar 31 Annie Lowe Rich passed away at the Dee Hospital cause not Known exactly MEMORANDA May 24 Lynne Rich Jr & Blanch daughter eight years old was operated for appendicitis by her father & grand father Rich. July 6 robert Rich Russell was baptized by his grandfather E. I. Rich & conference by Bishop Edward C. Saunders of the 4 Ward Ogden Stake June 13 Oertel & family came from Columbus Ohio to make their home in Ogden. Aug. 13 Janath Russell was married to Edwin Z. Cannon sec date Aug 13-41 Aug 27. Mary Rich Peery was operated for appendicitis by Dr Junior & Edward I Rich. Sept Oertel was made a member of Ogden R. S. stake board. Teacher of Theology. May 28 Thair visited us for a day on his return to San Francisco from N.Y. where he had takes two ill soldiers. Nov. 18 Thair visited us three days on return home from Kentucky were he had taken soldiers 8 Dec Pres. Fr. D. Roosevelt & U.S. Congress declared war on Japan. 8 Dec Myrene Rich Brewer gave birth to a girl at Dee Hospital at 11 30 P.M. Thair was in charge of patients sent from Letterman hospital to be put in hospitals at Denver & Texas to make room for those from Honolulu
