The collection includes Autobiographies, Oral Histories, History of Marriott, History of Slaterville, and the History of the Merging Townships to create Marriott-Slaterville City. This information has left behind rich histories, stories and important information regarding the history of the Marriott-Slaterville area. |

Show Weber State University stewart library WSU STEWART LIBRARY DIGITIZATION CHECKLIST and CONTRACT for the MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE COMMUNITY HISTORY SCOPE OF PROJECT: Estimated initial size of project: 8 cubic feet - Project includes 9 vol. Pre-lnc. & 15 vol. History - Scrapbooks covering Pre- Incorporation and History of the city from 1999-2008 with approximately 250 pages per scrapbook. Marriott-Slaterville would like a DVD of the Pre-lncorporation Scrapbooks and a DVD of the History from 1999-2008. The city also has several oral history video interviews about the history of the city and historic photographs depicting the town's history and residents. (Elizabeth Stewart's 80th birthday-image taken in front of the elementary school-youngest child in the picture passed away last year, a basketball team from 1930s, early images of the towns, etc.) TIME FRAME OF PROJECT: Estimated time to begin project: June 8, 2009 Required time to complete project: 6 months - December 15, 2009 OWNERSHIP OF THE COLLECTION: Marriott-Slaterville City- Population 1600 - maintains ownership and copyright of the collection. This will be indicated in the project metadata. The collection will become part of the Mountain West Digital Library (MWDL) collections and all standards required by the MWDL for inclusion will be met. RESPONSIBILITIES OF EACH PARTY: 1. Scanning: (jpg & tiff) - WSU Digitization Team will scan and format all images. 2. Metadata: (Excel Spreadsheet based on MWDL best practice guidelines) - WSU Digitization Team will create metadata. 3. WSU Stewart Library will quality-check the metadata and images, load them into the CONTENTdm digital content management software, and host the collection on our server. In addition, the collection will be harvested by the MWDL www.mwdl.orR and made accessible through that portal as well as temporarily on the WSU Digital Collections website until the Marriott-Slaterville City has created their own website, at which time WSU will provide them with a link and full access to their collection. COST: Marriott-Slaterville agrees to donate $2,500.00 to WSU Stewart Library for digitization of said collection.
