Show September 22, 2009 Accident Causes a Big Mess Dumped People gather at the scene of an accident between a semi trailer and a dump truck near the intersection of Pioneer Road and 1900 West in Ogden on Monday. The dump truck spilled a load of stones on the side of the road. Story about dogs, wandering geese missed details I am writing to express my concern about the Aug. 22 article, "Urban vs. Rural." The article appeared to infer that I was the instigator of the "feud" between neighbors. The paper failed to report the aggravation my neighbors and I put up with. The neighbors weren't even contacted. I have been complaining about the dogs barking at all times of the day and night for eleven years and I would always get the same response from the animal control people, "We will talk to Miller." Nothing changed. I finally insisted on a formal citiation in August. Also, if the geese were confined to pastures and fields, it would have been no problem, as I love wildlife. However, the geese come onto my lawn, deck and other areas of my property. Whenever my wife and I step outside, we have to be careful where we step, or we step into geese droppings. I am hardly to be classified as a "city" resident; I grew up in the country where we hand-milked cows, grew crops and raised a huge garden every year. I was thrilled to be able to return to that lifestyle. I only regret that the reporter did not get the full story and I feel that the Standard-Examiner has been biased in reporting this incident.
